PREAMBLE
UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR, a simplified joint stock company (SAS) with a share capital of €4,413,020, registered with the GRENOBLE Trade and Companies Register under number 477 711 972, having its registered office at 611 rue Aristide Bergès, Z.A. de Pré Millet, in MONTBONNOT-SAINT-MARTIN (38330) (hereinafter “UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR”), publishes and operates the website accessible at the following address: https://unity-sc.com/(hereinafter the “Site”).
The Site is a showcase site aimed to:
- Present to the User the history of the UNITY SC Group to which UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR belongs;
- Present the products and services offered by the UNITY SC Group, a global leader in semiconductor metrology and inspection solutions;
- Recruit new collaborators.
The present General Terms of Use (hereinafter “GTU”) aim to define the features, terms, and conditions of use of the Site as well as the rights and obligations of every User of the Site.
Any use of the Site implies compliance with these GTU. The User is deemed to have acknowledged and accepted them by ticking the box: “I acknowledge having read the General Terms of Use of UNITY SC, the Site’s Privacy and Recruitment Policies, as well as the Cookie Policy applicable to users and accept them without reservation.”
DEFINITIONS
The terms starting with a capital letter in these GTU, including in the preamble above, whether used in singular or plural, will have the meaning given to them in this article.
- GTU: the present General Terms of Use.
- Personal Data: any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (also referred to as “data subject”). An “identifiable natural person” is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier, or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural, or social identity of that natural person.
- User: any natural or legal person browsing the Site.
- Site: the website published and operated by UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR and accessible via the following URL link: https://unity-sc.com/.
- Terminal(s): the different supports (notably computer, smartphone, and tablet) on which the Site is accessible.
ACCEPTANCE AND MODIFICATIONS OF THE GTU
The GTU of the Site constitute a contract between the User and UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR. They come into effect upon their acceptance by the User and for the entire duration of the use of the Site.
Before continuing navigation, the User must read these GTU which they declare to have read, understood, and accepted without reservation by ticking the designated box.
UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR reserves the right to modify and update the GTU of its Site at its discretion in order to adapt them to the developments of its Site and/or legal or regulatory changes.
For perfect information, the User must regularly consult the sections to which they wish to refer and be aware of the present GTU.
The User accepts these GTU without reservation and undertakes to comply with all its provisions.
RESPONSIBILITY – USER COMMITMENTS
The User declares that the computer configuration both hardware and software they use contains no viruses and is in perfect working order.
Given the technical difficulties inherent to the Internet and the specific constraints of maintaining the Site, UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR cannot guarantee the User continuous access to the Site.
All costs related to accessing the Site and its use are exclusively borne by the User (Terminal and Internet access). The User is solely responsible for the proper functioning of their Terminal as well as the quality and speed of their Internet access.
The User is informed that the data on the Site are provided by UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR, purely for informational purposes.
The Site is reserved for the private use of the User, who is prohibited from using the Site and its content for commercial, political, advertising purposes, and any form of commercial solicitation including sending unsolicited emails.
The User of the Site is required, in the context of its use, to respect the laws and regulations in force and adopt ethical behavior.
SITE MANAGEMENT
For proper management of the Site, UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR may at any time:
- suspend, interrupt, or limit access to all or part of the Site, reserve access to the Site or to certain parts of the Site;
- remove any information that may disrupt its operation or that may violate national or international laws;
- suspend the Site’s operation to proceed with updates.
HYPERTEXT LINKS
The Site is independent of any other site or Internet resources with which it is connected or linked by a hyperlink or a similar technical process.
The User who wishes to create a hypertext link to the Site and/or any page of the Site and/or a file, must ensure beforehand that the context in which this hypertext link is integrated does not infringe the rights of third parties and/or the image of UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR.
The hypertext links established as part of this Site towards other resources on the Internet network, cannot engage the responsibility of UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR.
UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR does not exercise any control over the content of third-party sites. The existence of a hypertext link between the Site and a third-party site does not mean that UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR must assume any guarantee and/or responsibility as to its content or the use that may be made of it.
Thus, UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR can in no case be held responsible:
- for the editions and the content of the documents appearing on these sites;
- for the use of trademarks, logos, and other distinctive signs of said sites reproduced following the activation of the hyperlink;
- for the completeness and integrity of the information provided by these other sites.
UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR asks the User to please report any broken or erroneous hyperlink or one that redirects them to content that seems inappropriate.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
The Site and each of the elements that compose it, except for third-party trademarks that might be cited (and identified as such), including texts, articles, press releases, presentations, brochures, illustrations, photographs, computer programs, video sequences, animations, sounds, etc., are the exclusive intellectual property of UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR (or an entity of the UNITY-SC Group) or may be freely used by the latter either because they are royalty-free or because a license has been granted to this end.
Any reproduction, total or partial, of the Site or its content without the express and prior authorization of UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR is prohibited and may constitute an act of infringement punishable by articles L. 335-2 and following of the Intellectual Property Code.
No provision of the GTU, nor navigation on the Site, implies a transfer of ownership rights relating to said Site to any of the Users. The User is only authorized to display the Site on the screen of their Terminal and to temporarily reproduce the files that constitute it in the cache memory of this Terminal solely for the purpose of facilitating the consultation of the Site.
In particular, and subject to the provisions of the previous paragraph, the User is not authorized to reproduce, represent, modify, translate, and/or adapt, partially or totally, for a fee or free of charge, the Site and/or each of the elements that compose it, to reproduce and/or represent translations, adaptations, and modifications, partially or totally, for a fee or free of charge, without the prior written agreement of UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR.
In the absence of a response from the latter, the silence of UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR cannot be considered as an acceptance.
The fact that UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR does not initiate proceedings upon becoming aware of these unauthorized uses does not imply acceptance of said uses and waiver of prosecution.
By exception to the preceding paragraphs, UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR authorizes the User to download onto the hard drive of their personal computer, the documents, properties of UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR that may be made available to them in the form of electronic files specifically intended for downloading. These files can only be downloaded from hypertext links reproducing a statement manifesting the authorization given to the User to download these files.
In this case and unless otherwise expressly provided on each of the documents mentioned above, the User will only be authorized to hold a copy of these documents and to print these documents for strictly private use. In particular, they are prohibited from distributing these documents to third parties, on any medium (paper and/or digital medium) and in any manner (email, provision by distribution on a tangible medium and/or recording on a server).
Any short citation must include the reference to the Site and UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR and, where applicable, the name of its author.
PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA
The Privacy Policies of the Site and recruitment as well as the Cookie Policy annexed to these GTU form an integral part of these GTU and describe the conditions under which UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR uses the Personal Data of the User.
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN UNITY SEMICONDUCTOR AND THE USERS

APPLICABLE LAW – DISPUTES
These GTU are subject to French law. Any dispute arising from the existence, interpretation, execution or consequences of these GTU as well as in general from the use of the Site will be brought before the competent Courts of GRENOBLE.
