Are you interested in data science, computer vision, image analysis, and in applied mathematics and statistics in general ? As part of the development of its R&D activity, UnitySC is hiring an engineer with a passion for developing new solutions to solve complex technical challenges. You will be part of an international, close-knit, and supportive team, and you will be valued for the role you play in the company’s success, at every stage of your career.

Job description

As a member of the 10 persons R&D team your role will include:

– Developing and integrating data science for computer vision algorithms to process images or signals acquired by our sensors. Detecting and classifying defects and measuring physical parameters.

– Testing and validating your components and solutions using qualification processes you defined (precision of results, computational times, …).

– Supporting the software development team for optimal integration of your solutions.

– Characterizing existing algorithms and contributing to the continuous improvement of UnitySC technologies.

– Proposing and preparing proofs of concept to augment the capabilities of UnitySC technologies.

– Contributing to our technological intelligence, analyzing the development of new applications and algorithms through scientific publications and patents.

The data to process includes high resolution camera images in different wavelengths (Visible, IR, …) but also signals (interferometric, Doppler, …) from optical probes as well as multidimensional data (multispectral images, topographic reconstructions, …).

Profile of the candidate

  • You are a graduate in data science or in image processing with in-depth knowledge in machine learning (master’s degree minimum) with a high level of competence in applied mathematics and statistics.
  • The ideal candidate will have a PhD in this or a related field. Experience with the successful integration of a deep learning application into industrial software is an asset.
  • Some interest and experience in physics is an asset.
  • You are familiar with libraries used commonly for the development of Deep Learning based solutions (TensorFlow, PyTorch, …), standard image analysis tools (OpenCV, …) and as well as python language.
  • You have outstanding analytical competence and an eagerness to innovate and to collaborate in a research and development team. You reach your project objectives on-time, and you are autonomous with excellent organizational and communication skills.
